About this build

Eddy F.'s lifted single-cab 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500HD runs a 4-piece High-Intensity RGB Rock Lights kit, one light in each wheel well, controlled from the Bluetooth app on iPhone or Android. Each 2" light puts out 1,600 lumens from three 16W Cree LEDs, so the tires and suspension on the lifted 2500HD light up in any color.

A single Green Rock Light adds a fifth light under the cab. Rock Light Extensions cover the longer runs, and a Dual Harness gives two leads so Eddy can keep adding lighting later. The RGB rock lights are IP69 waterproof in shockproof aluminum housings. It is a straightforward setup that makes a lifted Silverado stand out. Want this Silverado 2500HD rock light setup? Chevy Silverado 2500HD lighting FAQ

How many rock lights does a Silverado 2500HD need?

4 to 8 rock lights cover the wheel wells on most trucks. This single cab runs 4 RGB lights plus one under the cab.

Do I need rock light extensions?

Rock light extensions are for longer runs. On a lifted truck they help reach the rear wheel wells and under the cab.

What is the difference between a single and dual harness?

A Single harness runs one light on one switch with no expansion. A Dual harness gives two leads so you can add lights later.

How it’s installed

  • Mount one RGB rock light in each wheel well, aimed at the tire and the ground.
  • Mount the Green Rock Light under the cab on a flat, solid surface.
  • Use the Rock Light Extensions for the longer runs to the rear and under the cab.
  • Route all wiring along the frame with zip ties, clear of suspension travel and exhaust heat, and seal each connector.
  • Wire through the Dual Harness, which gives two leads so you can add lights later.
