About this build

Kevin C. turned his 2003 Chevy Avalanche into an overland rig with lighting to match. A 40" curved 4D-Optic Series LED Light Bar in a combo beam sits on the roof, using dual row OSRAM LEDs to light the trail far ahead. Underneath, an 8-piece High-Intensity RGB Rock Lights kit covers the wheel wells in any color, controlled from the Bluetooth app.

Dual Purpose Chase Pods in amber/white with built-in strobe handle the hood and rear, and 2 ft High-Intensity RGB+W LED whips work as flag whips. It is a setup that covers distance, ground lighting and visibility all at once on the Avalanche. Want to build your Avalanche the same way? Every part on Kevin's build is in the parts list above.

  • Mount the Dual Purpose Chase Pods as a pair at the hood and rear.
  • Mount the 2 ft whips with a Buffer Spring (1 per whip) to take trail hits and snap-backs.
  • Route the roof wiring down to the engine bay, clear of door seals, and seal all connections.
